Individual & Relationship Counseling
My belief is that each of us have the opportunity to live the life we envision for ourselves. Counseling can be that unique phase in life where you make the decision to focus on yourself. Life molds us into who we are in this moment, however, we each have the opportunity to design who we want to be in the future.
Whether you want to make lasting life changes, process past trauma or learn skills to cope with everyday stressors, finding the motivation to get to counseling is all that matters.
I believe you are the catalyst for your own healing and growth. This approach allows each client to determine how the session is influenced and to be decisive with the goals they desire to work on. As the counselor, I offer a safe space for each of my clients and I empower you to pursue your personal goals.
"In order to be who you are,
you must be willing to let go of who you think you are"
- Michael Singer
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (License # LH60881538) in the state of Washington. I received my Masters of Counseling in Psychology from Argosy University in 2014. I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington in 2012. Additionally, I am a member of the American Counseling Association.
Outside of my private practice, I am also a Contracted Therapist with Working Choices, Inc. WCI receives referrals from Social Workers for families with open cases with the Department of Children, Youth and Families. I provide in- home evidence-based services and assessments for these families. I currently hold certifications in two evidence- based programs; Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and Project SafeCare.
In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors hiking, fishing and gardening, along with spending time with my friends and family.
Individual counseling- I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking change, whether this change is processing trauma, rewriting our negative self talk or learning how we hold our emotions in our bodies. I utilize your own strengths to continue your process of self empowerment.
Relationship counseling- Each one of us have relationships in our lives, and these relationships can be as equally complex as they are rewarding. With an awareness of how we are all connected to each other, and utilizing the Systems Approach, we can learn skills to improve our communication, boundaries and heal together in order to seek a stronger relationship.
Family counseling- Within the family unit, there is a need to communicate in a way that is effective for each family member. My goal is to help you find unhealthy family patterns and relationship dynamics which make you feel stuck, in order to increase your communications and make it feel possible to feel close to one another.
Home Study Reports- Through private and contract referrals, I complete home study reports, also called a pre-placement report, for prospective adopting families. The process is completed through interviews with all household members, a walkthrough of your home, and the collection of a variety of documents. This report is required to be an approved adopting family. I contract with Open Arms Adoption Agency.
I offer a 15-minute consultation call at no cost to decide if working together is a good fit.
The service fee is $135 / 50 minute session.
I do offer a sliding scale, in the hopes that it can reduce financial barriers to counseling.
I do not bill insurance for payment at this time; however, I will gladly provide you with a receipt for services at the time payment is made. It is up to the client to seek reimbursement.
Telehealth services- I have immediate openings for Telehealth (video or phone sessions), and will continue to only offer Telehealth sessions at this time!
